Making an Impact
The Memphis Zoological Foundation, located in Eads, Tennessee, is committed to conservation efforts that make a lasting impact on local wildlife and ecosystems. Through partnerships with organizations like the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency (TWRA), we’re restoring native habitats to support species rehabilitation and release. Our work extends to pollinators and plant life, including a Monarch Waystation through Monarch Watch, USDA-supported pollinator gardens, and our designation as a Tree Sanctuary by the Tennessee Urban Forestry Council. These initiatives help protect vital species and promote biodiversity in our region.
In addition to habitat conservation, we play a key role in wildlife rescue and rehabilitation. Recently, two rehabilitated hawks were released back into the wild, and our eagle release program continues to give injured eagles a second chance at life. These efforts reflect our dedication to safeguarding wildlife and ensuring a healthier, more sustainable future for generations to come.
